GP appointment? Don't need it? Cancel it!
We know people forget things, cancelling GP appointments being one of them. Remember to cancel your appointment if you don't need it.
How to Cancel an Appointment
If you are not able to keep your appointment please call us on 020 8221 3100 and cancel as soon as possible: someone else may need to see the doctor urgently.
OR you can text the word CANCEL to your text reminder and your appointment will be automatically cancelled by our system.
Please remember that there may be a shortage of appointments and when you fail to attend you have prevented someone else from being seen in your place.
Cancellations notified less than 30 minutes before the appointment time will be recorded as failure to attend (DNA).
DNA POLICY - 'Did Not Attend'
If you are unable to attend an appointment you must cancel this as soon as possible.
If you fail to cancel or do not attend the appointment this will be treated a DNA – ‘Did Not Attend’
Failing to attend two appointments will result in an initial warning being written to you. If you do not attend a third appointment we write to you again with another warning.
If after the two initial warnings you have not attended a fourth appointment we will write to you with a view of removal from the practice and you will have to register with another GP practice.
Failing to attend an appointment not only reduces the availability of appointments that could have been offered in an emergency, it is also as waste of NHS resources and is not taken lightly. If you cannot attend an appointment you must cancel, to ensure it can be offered to someone else.
PLEASE NOTE: the same DNA policy will apply to children as well.
